Company update

RF Solar Co Ltd partners with Archer Dean Electrical Contractors

RF Solar Co Ltd has established a strategic delivery partnership with Archer Dean Electrical Contractors, the Ayrshire-based electrical business with over 25 years of experience across solar PV, battery storage, EV charging and commercial electrical delivery. The partnership pairs RF Solar’s programme focus — councils, housing providers, main contractors and commercial clients across Northern Ireland and Scotland — with Archer Dean’s proven, qualified installation capability. The partnership means clients get certainty from the first project: one point of contact, and installation teams with a 25-year track record behind them. Enquiries for programme and package work are open now via the Work with us page.

Project guidance

Planning solar delivery for larger programmes: what project teams should prepare

Early technical coordination is the difference between a solar programme that runs and one that stalls. Before tendering or committing to dates, project teams should have a picture of roof condition and remaining life, structural capacity, existing electrical infrastructure and spare capacity, access and working-at-height constraints, and — for occupied housing — resident communication plans. A competent contractor will ask for this information at the first conversation. RF Solar reviews programme context, surveys the roof and electrical scope, then specifies against the actual requirement — in that order, every time.

Systems insight

Choose the system around the project — not the brochure

Panel, inverter, mounting, storage and monitoring decisions should follow requirements, specification and warranty evidence — not whichever brand a contractor prefers to sell. On programme work, the questions that matter are whether the warranty stands behind a 25-year asset, whether the supply route is reliable enough for a phased programme, and whether monitoring gives the building owner real performance visibility. Those answers change by project. That’s why our specification process starts with the building, not the box.
